Parachute Untangling Guide
A tangled parachute is a parachute that takes longer to deploy and is less effective at doing its job. This guide will help you untangle parachutes and prevent further entanglement.
Basic Parachutes (Parasheets)
Parasheets typically have six ropes or less, and will usually sort themselves out. In the event one gets tangled, untangle it like you would a rope, loosening points of entanglement and passing it through itself.
Intermediate Parachutes (Gore-Based Non-Toroidal)
Gore-based parachutes are manufactured from panels of fabric. These often include more lines and more complicated parachute geometry.
Advanced Parachutes (Toroidal Parachutes)
